What Is Boom25?
Boom25 is a cashback site with an interesting twist.
Most cashback sites give you a fixed cashback amount or a % of the sale. The amounts vary but often for well-known retailers they are in the low range of 1-5% range, sometimes higher if you’re a new customer.
Well, with any purchases you make through Boom25 you have the potential to get up to 100% cashback.
Not only that, there’s a decent 1 in 25 chance of getting the full amount back.
Given sometimes the cashback available is low, it could well be worth a shot.
If you are totally new to cashback on your shopping, be sure to read my best cashback sites post. It’s a free and easy way to get money back on your shopping and bills.
How Does Boom25 Work?
Every time you intend to make a purchase at a retailer that is partnered with BOOM25, login to your BOOM25 account first, search the retailer and click the link, so your visit is tracked back to your BOOM25 account.
This will qualify you for the draw that awards every 25th customer a 100% cashback on their purchases.
The transactions have to be approved first, and it’s every 25th approved transaction that gets 100% cashback.
The models give everyone the same chance to win whether their purchase was 10p or £10,000.
The maximum purchase to qualify for cashback is £20,000.
What can you get cashback on?
You can get cashback on a wide range of options, including:
- Huge range of retailers
- Tourist Attractions
- Theatre tickets
- Holidays & Tours
- and much more
How Much Cashback Do You Get?
While you can get 100% cashback for many retailers, for some you can only get 50%.
Others only offer cashback on your first purchase and small bonus if you use them otherwise.
This normally applies to your value retailers who operate with low-profit margins anyway, such as supermarkets.
Find a Retailer On Boom25
Use the search bar to search for the retailer you want to make a purchase at.
Note, for some there may be two options, as there was for Argos, but note on the lower one there is a green gift symbol to the left which signifies this link is for the Argos Gift Card page.
Once you are at the retailer’s page of the retailer you wish to make a purchase with, you can check the terms of the cashback offer.
Not all offers are 100%, for example, when I looked, eBay purchases were 50%.
Example Retailer Page
In the example below, you can see the Argos page on Boom25.
So for your cashback to track, you would simply click the big red “Go Now” buttons which would take you to the Argos web site. You then carry on making your purchase as normal.
The amount you initially pay is what will count towards the cashback draw.
So if you pay for one month but renew every month for a year, it’ only the first month that qualifies for potential cashback.
If however, you pay 3 or 6 months upfront for the first payment, that’s what qualifies for the cashback draw.
Tesco and ASDA
If you’re a new customer to either Tesco and ASDA via their online stores you will qualify for the Boom25 1:25.
However, after that, you’ll just get a 50p or £1 bonus which will show up in the “My Bonus” section.
I did think it would be a little too good to be true for every supermarket shop to qualify because these stores are known to pay very low cashback amounts if any at all to existing customers.
Boom25 for Amazon
I’ve highlighted Amazon as the biggest online retailer in the world, so it’s always extra handy if we can get cashback with them of any kind.
At the time of this post, no cashback was available via the store, nor via Amazin Gift Cards.
Although it did say they were currently renewing terms with Amazon on the Gift Card page where previously they have given back win amounts of 33% of the total gift card purchase amount.
Making Sure Cookies Track
Cashback sites work by tracking your visit via their web site to the retailer via cookies.
If you’ve already visited the retailer, possibly via other affiliates or sites with cookies then your order may not track.
To make sure it does track, you can clear cookies in your browser. Or use a different browser you haven’t previously used to visit the site.
Winnings can only be withdrawn through Paypal.
Boom25 does not offer the option of withdrawing to a bank or any other payment method.
Paypal accounts are free to set up. If for any reason you can’t or don’t want your own Paypal account, Boom25 say it’s okay to use someone else’s, assuming you trust them of course.
Instant Payout Option Fees: There are 6 options for withdrawing. Basically options 1 -5 are for Instant Payouts for varying amounts.
If you want to opt or an Instant Payout, from £50-£1000+ you’ll have to pay a handling fee of 6-17%, This way you get your money within 2 business days.
Standard Payout Option 6: You can withdraw 100% of your winning sum without any fees. You’ll just have to wait up to 21 days.
For all options, you will incur mandatory Paypal fees as a “goods and services” transaction. Only “friends and family” transactions are free.
Is it a Scam or Legit?
Boom25 was founded in 2017, so it’s still fairly new on the scene.
So far the feedback has been excellent.
With 92% of reviews being excellent and an extra 3% great! That’s one of the best I’ve seen.
Boom25 also has an extremely active Special Bargains for UK Boomers Facebook Group with over 221,000 members.
So all the signs all good.
Boom For Gift Cards
You can also qualify as a winner for Gift Card purchases.
Sometimes the gift card purchases will also qualify for a bonus, as the Primark one did below:
When Best To Use Boom25
When the cashback at other sites is really low and you think a 1 in 25 chance is worth it.
1 in 25 gives us an equivalent cashback rate % of 4%.
So for example, if the purchase is £25 and other cashback sites will net us £1 cashback or less, maybe it’s always worth going through Boom.
The choice is yours. It’s certainly more exciting having the potential of getting our shop or outing for free.
Of course, you could also go a long time without winning.
The best thing to do is just treat it as a bonus is you do get it. If you feel your missing out just use one of the other best cashback sites.
Boom25 Special Offers
When I joined I was offered £3 bonus if I used Boom25 and made purchased within 24 hours.
They also occasionally have special offers where for example they might have limited time 1 in 10 winners for certain stores.
They advertise these in emails, but if you’re not subscribed look out for them on pages like MSE Boom25 Deals
Boom25 Mobile App
You can also use Boom25 via either Apple App Store or for Android in the Google Play
If you allow notifications you will get notified of better offers, my first was “Every 1:20 win” at T.K.Maxx”.
I personally prefer not to be notified and just use the app and take what’s on offer at the time I need to spend.
How Does Boom25 Compare with Other cashback sites?
Boom25 certainly has a wide range of options for retailers and all kinds of entertainment and attractions that you might spend money on.
You would have to weigh up your individual purchases with what cashback you can get at other cashback sites.
Friend Referral – Boost Your Cashback
Boom25 offers a £5 refer a friend bonus per family or friend member you recommend.
They have to visit via your link and make a purchase of £20 (excluding retailers with fast approvals and VAT & delivery) for you to qualify.
You can claim the bonus via your Dashboard.
I’ve used the referral code in the links on this page (if you use them to sign up, thankyou).
Boom25 is certainly an interesting option to have amongst the range cashback sites.
What do you think?
Do you already use Boom25? Have you had any wins?
What helps you decide what transactions to use it for or versus other guaranteed cashback alternatives?
Please let me know, I’d love to hear.
